I'm studying for my Avaya ACA, there are several practice problems on ip addressing which I'm confussed with.

One of the examples is this:

Network Address: 177.133.0.0
Max Number of Hosts/Physical Segment: 350
Reguired Number of Physical Segments: 100

So from the information above, I have to give them the following:

Proposed Custom Subnet Mask
Number of Subnets Supported
Maximum Number of host ID per subnet.

Can anybody please give me an idiots guide in how to do this??? I'm sure I could use a Subnet calculator to get this information but I would like to know the theory on how to do this myself.

Thanks in advance.
