I have a BCM 4.0 with 3 BCM 50 release 2 we will be setting up to use ip trunks over point to point t1 curcuits. The company that is setting up our routers I would like to point in the right direction. I know we need QOS on the router. Is there any other key features I need on the router to make this happen? Any advise would be great.

If you have IP phones, Set up VLAN tagging on your layer 2 switches, this will help with packet prioritization and keep your voice and data trafic seperate.

Im not usin ip phones just ip trunks. All remote sights will have there own phone lines.

The IP trunks will be used to intercom and transfer calls onle.

The things to control are Qos and codecs. Some codecs use more bandwith, but are as clear as a T1 channel, others use 1/4 of that bandwith by compression w/o sacrificing much quality.

Qos is tagging the voice packets w priority, a must to guarantee quality during high bandwith usage.
