I need some help. My boss has a Mac at home... not sure on the OS but I'll know shortly. He wants to buy a new PC and network them together and have them share files and a printer. I know absolutely nothing about Macs... never used them at home or work. I will probably suggest to him that he buy a windows xp machine but then I have to figure how to network it with the Mac. I have seen there is software available to allow this but I also read somewhere else that additional software may not be needed??? Am I better off just having him buy another Mac instead? I'm leery of doing that because I'm so unfamiliar with them and he'll want to know how to network them together. I think he wants to try to do this himself so he wants a setup that is as easy as possible of course. Which way would be the easier way to go?

The easiest way to go is if he has Mac OSX at home. Check out apple.com...

If it is OS9 or earlier, you will need something like Dave (Mac application) or PCMacLAN (Windows application) for one computer to see the other.
