I have an access database that we use within our company. We are now split across two sites but have a virtual network.

Can anyone advise the best way to use access in this way as when we have tested it, as soon as we run the main query it takes about 5 minutes.

Do we have to stick to copying to a shared area and replicating?

Any help or advise is welcome

Ltak,
The first thing to look at with queries over a network is indexing. Make sure the Joins in these queries are indexed--ie if you have a 3-part join, make sure the 3-fields on each side are each in a 3-part index (go to the INdexes builder in Table Design view to create multi-field indexes). Also watch for sorting--sort only if you absolutely must. If the query is a report source never sort, since the query does it's own sorting with the recordset handed to it.

...I mistyped, the last sentence should say that the Report's Query does it's own sorting on the query handed to it.
