i read the post and was wondering if bcaster response can pertain to me as well.

Router A) I have a linksys router 192.168.1.X with the WAN being used for the internet.

Router B)I also have a netgear wireless router that I have using 192.168.2.X scope.

What I did was gave router B a WAN static IP of 192.168.1.2 and connected it to port #1 on router A. I can connected to the internet from both subnets..and both subnets are giving out DHCP accordingly.

One problem I am having Subnet A 192.168.1.X can not ping anything on 192.168.2.X address however Subnet B 192.168.2.X can ping any 192.168.1 address.

I have tried using the uplink however that does not do anything.

Any suggestions.

I also failed to mention that the netgear has some spots on the admin page where I can add static routes and it also has RIP direction and RIP verson options. I have set rip to BOTH and RIP_2M not sure about the static routes.

after another try i got it to work:
from bcasterns post:

. disable DHCP on the second router
. give the second router a static IP in the non-DHCP scope of the first router; likely 192.168.1.2 is non-conflicting, or choose any value from 192.168.1.2 -- 192.168.1.99, or 192.168.1.150 -- 192.168.1.254
. connect the two routers from an uplink port on one to a regular, not WAN, port.
