Hi there,

As far as I know Legato Networker 7.x for Windows does not have a client module for Sharepoint portal Server. However recently I obtained the license sheet for EMC2 dated May 2005; I noticed LIC-001020 NetWorker Sharepoint Portal Server Win2000 Client. Does anybody know what this license is for and if there will be a Networker Sharepoint Module?

Thnx.

Well, there´s a SHAREPOINT: saveset that is used to backup SharePoint 2000, which i *think* does not have a "real" database which is locked on use, so there´s no need for a online module. SharePoint 2003 however uses an SQL database and is backed up using the SQL module, the SQL license and the MSSQL: saveset. I hope that´s accurate info, but please do correct me if i´m mistaking.

Cheers!
Maverick

NWNinja,

You're absolutely right about the Sharepoint SQL DB using the SQL module. I just want to know what this specific Networker Sharepoint license is for.

Thnx.

Ok, then you have the answer there: The Sharepoint license is needed when backing up Sharepoint 2000, Sharepoint 2003 does not require this license. And there is no specific Sharepoint module like the ones for SQL and Exchange for instance.

Cheers!
