NetWorker server 6.1.3 and NetWorker client 5.1.

Hello all,

I’ve recently updated our NetWorker server from 6.0.2 to 6.1.3 and after this update all backups of a HP-UX 9.05 host running NetWorker client 5.1 fail with “Connection timed out”. Would it be that NetWorker 6.1.3 is incompatible with clients running NetWorker 5.1? I’ve haven’t been able to find any patches for HP-UX 9.05, so does anyone know of any workaround to get this to work?

I’ve reinstalled the NetWorker 5.1 client in the HP-UX 9.05 host and now the backups run successfully. Strange behavior, isn’t it?

yes you need to upgrade your clients to 6.X version before upgrading your server to 6.1.3. I guess you already figured that out the hard way.

No, I'm still running the 5.1 version on the client. I've just reinstalled the same version. There's no 6.X version for HP-UX 9.X clients.

There is a problem with NetWorker 6.1.3 with RSH connections to the client. There is a fix for this, but you need to get it from Legato.
