Ran full backup over the weekend, and now have all sorts of error messages in daemon.log. When I open NWadmin, I can't do anything as the message "Server Not Responding" appears, and when I try to run nsr or mm commands from the command line the message "RPCbind: Can't bind to NSR service" and "RPC Error: Program not Registered" is returned. I think Networker had a problem with one of tapes as there were lots of "Error Level: Fatal" messages when trying to read/write to/release the 4th tape in the jukebox. The backup did continue on the 5th and 6th tapes though. Now it keeps sending out "nsrmmdbd: media database conversion failed: no such file or directory". Any suggestions from anyone as to how to sort all this out would be most appreciated.

Some important things to include:

- OS of the Legato server
- Version of Legato
- OS of the client being backed up

Without knowing anything else, though, I would try recycling the services and jukebox. You can recycle the jukebobox with nsrjb -H . The services depend on the OS type.

Thanks rgzimmer,

I managed to sort the problem in the end by reinstalling the backup software, this seemed to clear up the problem (for now!).

Thanks again,

Emma
