Networker Module for Exchange Server

I am getting the following error in trying to back up Exchange mailboxes.

Backing up Microsoft Exchange private mailboxes....

Does anyone have any ides?

Is the Outlook client required on the Exchange server in order for individual mailboxes to be backed up?

Yes it is. Or at least some of its libs are. And it also has to be the right version. It seems that the routines/functions from that lib are used to communicate with the Exchange server software to extract data from the Exchange database.
Not all versions, Networker, Exchange, Outlook are compatible, but I forgot about the right numbers.
