Has anyone here ever used the networker/legato linux client to do backups on their redhat (enterprise linux 2.1) system?
I can't get it to work.
How did you install the rpm-files?
any special way?
Other problems during installation/configuration?

what is the problem?
what messages you get?

I've added the job on our backup server.
when I try to backup /etc I get an unsuccessful saveset with error message:

cannot request command execution
permission denied

or something similar.

which user runs legato?

did you install legato with root user?

The problem is access permisions...

the file /nsr/res/servers was configured badly.
since networker (at least our version) is very sensitive about correct hostnames the above file should only contain one FQDN of the networker-server doing the backup.
