hello,
i have a problem with backup on domain controller.name of a client in networker is emad01 but domain is emad01.elek.com so in properties of this client in box 'aliases' i write emad01.elek.com (name of machine where contoller is installed). but if the group with this cliend starts i've a failure - 'Probe job had unrecoverable failure(s)'.When i use networker user everything is ok but when i use networker administrator in orgder to make scheduled backup i have this problem. In addition, others backups (other groups and others servers) go ok only i have problem with domain controller.
I'd be grateful for solution to my problem.

Try the following:

Run this from the command prompt on the Networker server.

rpcinfo -p emad01.elek.com

You should see the Networker services on ports 7937 & 7938

Also try an nslookup of the server by client name & IP address.

Probe job failures normally suggest a problem with connectivity between client & server rather than any misconfiguration on the server itself.

When kicking off a scheduled backup, the server sends the client the command to use in order to begin starting its backups. If the client cannot pass the backup info back to the server there is normally a probe job failure.

Finally, if anything has changed in the servers file on your client, restart your Networker services on the client.

You should not need to adjust the alias field - NW will do this automatically for you, IF you create the client using the FQDN.

If the manual backup works and the scheduled failed, there are 2 common problems:
- the client's servers file does not allow the server to contact him
However, in this case, you receive a clear error message.
- The other issue most likely will be a (reverse) name resolution problem.

Use "savegrp -pvv -G group" from the server's command line to get more infos.
