We currently have an application which sits on a Universe database on a unix server - currently uses a mixture of Solaris ufsdumps and EMC's EDM backup solution to backup the Live and test databases pre and post batch processing using Unix cron job.
Wish to move backups to Networker 7.3.3, advice sought on the best way to do this - can we still use the unix cron and substitute Networker commands ( not 100% on how to do this , would |I use save savegrp) or would I be better off writing a savepnpc script and running from Networker.

Of course you can use the savegrp command - just disable the "autostart" attribute for the group.

A backup script is a client specific script while savegrp runs on the server. Of course you can mix both, if required.
