I have an Faststor-2 tape library (8 Slots) connected to a Adaptec 29320-ALPR Redhat kernel 2.6.9-5.ELsmp Intel server. Looking to run Networker 7.2.2.

So far I have installed Redhat version 4.0 (2.6.9-5.ELsmp)Base (No patches at this point)

I install the recommended driver for the Adaptec
Lsmod
aic79xx
It installed fine now errors and is in the kernel.
I then installed Networker client/Driver/storagenode/server.
After doing that I get the following error when I try to run inquire on the server:

inquire
NetWorker: SYSTEM error: failed to set SCSI timeout on device '/dev/nst0' (Inappropriate ioctl for device)

scsidev@0.5.0: |Disk, /dev/nst0

What am I doing wrong or what do I need to set in order to make this work.
Does anyone here have Redhat AS 4.0 running with Networker 7.22?

Thanks again in Advance.

Rob

It points to the fact that the drive is not properly configured. Does a standard backup command work at all?
