Has anyone attempted to network 2 norstars side by side using DTI cards, but no actuall T1 or PRI? I called Nortel and they say it should work, but I'd like to get some feedback if anyone's tried it, and how'd it work out?
I may need to do this for a cusomer who has gone to full capacity on their existing Norstar, but they have a spare Norstar with all necessary parts to make this happen.

Yep, we have it here in the lab. You just go straight from the front of the first DTI card into the 2nd DTI card.

Be sure to set CSU to NO.
You'll program it like you would an E&M connection with each extension getting a target line with their extension number as the rec'd digits etc.

DTI cards back to back wiring:

KSU A KSU B

1 Rx Ring Rx Ring 1
2 Rx Tip Rx Tip 2
3 - - 3
4 Tx Ring Tx Ring 4
5 Tx Tip Tx Tip 5

1 on A to 4 on B
2 on A to 5 on B
4 on A to 1 on B
5 on A to 2 on B

Hope this makes sense....

I have done it also between two buildings. Just make your cable as mroberts has posted. It works great. Good Luck!!
