Networked Merlin Magix and voice mail

I have two merlin magix connected by a T1, using a single voice mail, merlin Msg 2.5. The merlin Magix that has the voice mail is an R2.2 and the other is an R4.0. The phones that are connected to the switch with the voice mail display the number of new and old messages on the display phones. The phones in the second switch do not. everthing else seems to work. Can the phones in the second switch also display the voice mail info? If so What am I missing.

You need to upgrade the processor software on the 2nd switch from Magix R2.2 to Merlin Magix R4, V7 or V7.01 - to be able to see the "old/new" messages display. Before you do that - you need to do a backup mof programming on that 2nd switch to WinSPM - and convert the backup to Magix R4 - and then restore it - after the processor upgrade.

I upgraded the processor to R4 v7.0 an restored the converted translations. So both are now R4 V7. Still no message in the display of 44xx phone that reside on the switch without the merlin msg card. The mail as stated is 2.5. booted both switches and still nothing. Any other ideas. What am I missing.

Page 546 of the MERLIN MAGIX® Integrated System Feature Reference Release 3.0 and Earlier states:

The new and old message counts supplied by a MERLIN Messaging System of Release 2.5 or later appear only on display telephones located on the same MERLIN MAGIX system and the MERLIN Messaging System. New and old message counts are not sent to non-local extensions.
