well, my boss is at it again, he has me on a project to network out office of about 70 pcs. the networking part should be okay its the virus protector that is the problem, i need to know if its out there, a virus protector for the network. now how does this work, do i install it on the server and the pc's on the network will be okay or will i need to install some sort of software to detect if a virus got pasted my server and into the pc. any help at all would be great.
thanks again for any responses

Try a corporate edition of Norton AntiVirus 7.5x.when used with a managed server, this covers your network/workstations ok...

if you need fileservers/gateways/exchange etc. try TrendMicro antivirus stuff [antivirus.com] I use ServerProtect on my fileservers, Viruswall on the gateway and ScanMail on my exchange server...all are very good. I have PC-Cillin on all my XP workstations, which seems to work just fine.

okay, so what is my exchange sever is were all my file are also stored from all the pc's. the pc's really aren't going to be doing all that much saving, and also you were talking about the "Virus Wall on the Gateway" what exactly is the gateway? .
thanks

Sophos does what you describe. You update the server and then each PC gets updated. Of course, each PC/server will need to have the software installed but that is done from a central server, as well.

Excellent support, too. James P. Cottingham
