Hi,

I've got an old Pentium 1 with a 40 GB HD in it. I would like to connect this computer to my portable, to be used as a remote hard disk.
Is there a way to network it with my portable (Win2000 pro) in DOS?
Why DOS: because I want to be able to just put it on and off, without an OS requiring me to use a keyboard or mouse and monitor. Just a nice batchfile that boots the pc into a networked status.

Peace,

Yellow

Try Lantastic. Mix and match DOS to XP.

Thx adfair. Lantastic wasn't free however, so I had to find another possibility and I found one. It might be interesting for other users doing a query on DOS and Network

Check out . It uses Netbui btw.

Peace,

I have a similar setup with a Pentium 1 system but it runs Windows 2000. It has no monitor, keyboard or mouse. It just sits under my desk with a power cable and RJ-45 plugged in. If I need to do any maintainence or turn it off I use VNC to control it with another system. Pretty much the desktop pops up in a window on the machine connecting to it and keyboard and mouse works just like they were plugged in to it. You can check it out at
