We are on Win2K AD

since we upgraded to WIN2K from NT4
there has always been this error message;

this machine is a domain controller(XXXX) but it is not configured to sync with an external time source.

someone suggested that i do this;

net time /setsntp:XXXX

i did it but the error occured again the next day.

what i want to achieve is, synchronize the time within the network but not to synchronize with any external source.
is this possible?

thanks in advance...

Hello! I think that your primary DC needs some kind of an external time sync source, otherwise you will keep getting W32time errors. To sync the rest of the computers in your domain with DC time-- at each computer run 'net time /set' command. You have to be logged as admin in order to accomplish that, if that what I understand you want to achieve.
Somebody might give you more complete solution.

Alex.

thanks for the tips

i'll try to implement it.
will post results.

gracias,

igor
