I wish to setup a network team on my new HP ML370 how ever the second nic is not the same make as the on on the motherboard of the server. Can you team two network cards or somehow bond them in 2003 server? IE Both cards to one IP address?

Also do I need a 1Gb network if I have 20 users and then about 250 users connecting via webmail?

I am sure its over kill as the remote users will be connecting via vpn (1Mbps up and 512kbps down, adsl)

Thanks again

Hande

a hp server normally comes with insight manager CD.
you install this and you should be able to bridge the 2 NICs together.

Shouldn't need 1Gb if you have so few users, unless they are using very large files all the time, or you are doing very large backups across the LAN to or from another server.

If I remember properly the Compaq teaming utils only support teaming amongst the same family of NIC's. e.g. an NC3120 and an NC3121 would work but an NC3120 and a Netflex would not work. The same driver has to be able to support both cards.
