I have 2 computers runing win2000 Pro and i try to copy one file with 973 Mb from computer 1 to computer 2. This operation takes 40 Seconds. if i make the inverse operation, computer 2 to computer 1, it takes 2 minutes.

Please help?


Specs. Computer 1/computer 2
Pentium 4 1,7 GHz
512 Mb RDRam
Hdd 40 Gb Seagate 7200 rmp
Network card Planet ENW-9602T 1000Base-T
Cable CAT5e

Switch Planet GSW-601S 1000Base-T
 
I must say that 40secs is impressive! The only thing I would advise for you to check is whether the 2 pc's are running the same processes (CTRL-SHIFT-ESC) and configured the exact same way? Looks like they're running the same hardware.

Looks like a stumper otherwise...
