I work for an applications service provider whose product interfaces to customer telephony equipment through a telephony board mounted in our server. We typically are requested to connect directly to a customer PBX over a T1 trunk.

I have a requirement to interface our product to a customer SX2000. I have searched through available on-line documentation in regards to the SX2000 and I have a good understanding of what will be required. There are a few things I am missing and I am hoping the SX2000 experts can clarify those for me.

Our preference is an ISDN connection so we can pick up both called and calling number. Our telephony boards must run ISDN user side and slave clocking.

I understand that the SX2000 programs its ISDN links through the IMAT tool. From the available information I have been able to source it appears that you can option the SX2000's ISDN PRI trunks for Network side or user side. I have not been able to confirm the following:

Question: Can a PRI trunk on the SX2000 be optioned ISDN network side with any ISDN protocol type or can it only be optioned ISDN Network side with QSIG?

Related to establishing these ISDN trunk configurations I couldn't find much information in regards to clocking. I would like the SX2000 to clock the trunk as well.

From the available information I have I am left with the following assumptions:

Question 2: PRI clocking:
a) if you set the trunk for network side it is automatically set as clock master... OR ...
b) the trunk descriptor field and more specifically the far end connection transmission parameter in the trunk descriptor field has something to do with the clocking, although I am somewhat at a loss as to whick one [ones] of the available settings is used to have the SX2000 act as the master clock.

The sx2000 must have the rlan option in the dim and features. from there, the imat database, you can specify that the link is master. keep in mind you'll have to use likely dms100 as you cannot go network side on ni2 5ess
