Just a bit bored at work and did a sample exam for Network+ and breezed throught it.

Was thinking of touching up on some minor areas and then taking the exam.....might aswell.

Just wondering what your main resources are for preparing for this exam?

Also - how much does this exam cost in British Pounds?
thanks

oh also - is this a purely theoretical exam?

cyberspace,

The Net + is pretty basic networking with a few basic trouble shooting type questions. It is VERY general!

I was already a CCNA when I took the Net + so I had to keep from reading too much into the questions!

Just go to Barnes and Noble or Borders and look over the Net + certification books and find one you like that is easy to read - grab a cup of coffee spend a few hours with the book!

If you must take a book home - get the ISBN and then buy it online :) or at least check online for discount coupons - I get 20%, 25% or 30% email coupons from Borders about every week.

Good luck !

You were also CCNA before N+, eh? I did the same thing---I was reading too much into the questions, until I saw the answers...ha ha.

Burt,

My employer payed for me to go to "class" for a week on Daytona Beach for Network + including the exam which I think is $200 :) :) :)

A week off with pay, meals, a hotel room (right on the beach) it was a no brainer as they say :) :) :)

OH MY!!! Now THAT'S even better than MY story about the Assistant IT Director lady who knew I was a CCNA but would not consider me for employment until I passed Network+!!! Daytona Beach? You poor man...lol!!!

CiscoGuy33,

Now that's "PHAT", a week at Daytona Beach, hotels and all the things you can do to concentrate, yup sounds like a no brainer to me. I just read the sybex, and don't hate me, but I did look up a few questions on Testking.

Peace

I can understand that CiscoRC---there were a few questions I can remember that seemed to have been written in a different language, and I would wonder, "...what the heck are they asking here? What do they want???"

Burt

thanks for the advice chaps!

I am also at CCNA level, although I do not hold the official title as I didn't get round to taking the exam...soemthing which I will come back to no doubt.

I see N+ as just a little extra oomph for my CV really, as I recently graduated with a degree in network computing...no prizes for guessing what I want to do career wise!
