Hi,
I have been trying to connect via a VM on my pc to analysis services 2000 on a server. I have analysis services installed on the PC and up to the same service pack level.
Whenever I try to connect using AS manager, I get the message that the network registry is not available yah de yah, so I fired up regedit and connected to the registry on the remote server.
Well, I was rather surprised to find that I can not see the HKLM\software\microsoft\OLAP Server reg key! I can see all above and below, but not that one.
I can see it from my PC (logged on as me - the same user).
This is now driving me a little potty - does anyone have any idea what may be going wrong? The VM and AS server are both Win 2003 and my PC is XP.
The security is fine (I'm logged on as the same user).
