I just installed Win XP Pro on a new system and mapped the network drives. When I open any of the Access databases from the network I get the "Some files can harm your computer" warning box and it asks to continue or cancel. The always ask before opening check bos is checked but it is grayed out so I can't change it. How do I prevent this from appearing evertime I open a program on my internal network?

Thank you in advance for any assistance!

This is most likely to do with either your internet security options or your antivirus options.

It sounds like Internet Explorer still controls what files and applications you use even if it's not from the Internet but on a private network. Would it still cause the same box to display if the Access database is on a network share and a shortcut is placed on the desktop? I have setup Win XP pro before and I have never had this kind of problem. I'm not useing a web page or hyperlinks to the database, it is simply a mapped drive where the database exists and a shortcut to the executable. The warning box appears even if I try to open the database by clicking it directly on the mapped drive. I set up another Win XP Pro box configured the exact same way just before this one and it didn't do it. What could be causing this because we use a number of programs that are on a cetralized server and requires mapping their drives to the clients. It gets a little frustrating to get a warning every time you try to open a program.

Thanks again for your assistance!

The article I mentioned above deals only with intranet hyperlinks through IE, not mapped shares.

Do you have the off-line folder feature enabled on the same share as you are trying to access the database files?
