gurus,
i have this F80 machine running in 433 with RML7 installed, im using the onboard NIC and then i have one more extra PCI NIC 10/100. Now, i installed another GBIC card for some purpose, and wanted to migrate the IP to GBIC. The GBIC was installed perfectly inthe system using the devics.pci.1400..something but running in V.75( i believe this one is from RML9)I dont beleive it would afect my system but somehow, everytime i shift my IP ,lets say 10.223.100.10 to this GBIC, it wont work, even self loopback, but then if i used it with subnet mask 255.255.255.0 it works rather than using 255.255.0.0. It is conencted to a GBIC alcatel switch( but not familiar how the network configure it) I also tried changing everything from 10 half-duplex to autonegotiation. I am also aware that you need to bring down the other nic as well, but nevertheless, i really have no idea what is this strange things going on all about.. HAve any one encounter this before or rather can you give me advice as to which other things, i might missed out?
thanks!
