I have a remote location (different network than our Citrix server) who would like to run/print checks from an application on the Citrix server.

Can I set up a network printer within Citrix to the user's network (presently there is no VPN connection between the citrix network and the user's network)

The user could print check to their local printer however the scenero may not be the same user, another user may run checks from another office at that site.

Thanks

MSR63,
So you are saying that these users are connecting to the Citrix application from a client that is located in the same site as the printer?
Do these users have the printer installed on their client locally?

If so, this should be as simple as allowing the mapping of the local printer to the Citrix session. This can be done with the Citrix Management Console or Access Suite in the policies section.

Just allow the print mappings from the client and it will be visible via the Citrix application. This will give them that option to print to their windows printers.

This can be done to all users or some specific users (which ever one you would like). So your third paragraph should not be an issue either.

Hope that helps.

Thanks

But the issue is that the printer for checks is a specific type of printer- with MICOR ink.

Not every printer can print checks. So they are requesting one printer that can be viewed as a network printer from within Citrix. The only thing is, there is not a VPN to this site, right now all they have is their local printer mapping via Citrix.

I want to tell them to just designate one user to print and make srue that MICOR printer is connected to the ICA client but I wanted to make sure there wasn't another option out there.
