Hi we have a server 2003 R2 enterprise edition printer server. We have 12 printers being shared from the server.

The last couple of days 2 of the printers keep reporting that they have gone offline and cannot be printed to. One of the printers is a HP laserjet and the other is an Olivetti laserjet.

The only workaround I have found at the moment is to delete the printer and the tcp/ip port then reinstall it.

Is this a known issue and if so is there a work around.

If you happen to be on SP2 for R2, I have seen the same problem. It has to do with the changes made in SP2 that deal with SNMP. Try disabling SNMP on printer port properties.
