Help !

I am having a problem at the moment with printing via a novell network. Every time I install any network printer on a Windows98 machine, the status of the printer is set to "Waiting". I have tried reinstalling the client, reinstalling a new novell client, removing all printers and then adding them again, removing MS file and print sharing then adding it again. But it is still not working.

If you have had this problem and have fixed it !! Then please let me know how !!

Thanks.

I don't know much about Novell, so this is a guess, but under Add > Services in my network properties, there is an entry for File and Print sharing for Novell networks. Should this be enabled?

Hi Paul - thanks for the reply.

Yep, have tried this, but it seems that you can not install the File and Print sharing for Novell networks if you have the Novell Client installed.

Any other suggestions ???

Thanks,

M

Does Novell need ipx/spx protocol, if so is it installed? I assume so if you can log on. The error normally comes down to network connectivity problems, ie protocols missing, wrong subnet (if tcp/ip used), incorrect user permissions, bad cables, printer ports not set up properly (do you have to capture ports with Novell?), etc.

If none of this makes any sense, um, try the Novell Netware5 forum? forum75
