Network Printer Problems

We have a small network with an XP computer, an ME computer, & a 98 computer.

Last week the ME computer could no longer print to the Ricoh AFICIO AP3800C printer and suggested that it be deleted and reinstalled. The user deleted the printer and now after it has been reinstalled it throws a Rundll32 error when you try to print to it.

It also gives a spool error.

I have tried installing it from the CD and from the network. Same results.

I am trying to get the owners to upgrade to XP as I think the whole kernel on the ME computer is corrupt. We get other problems and twice the computer has refused to start saying the registery could not be found.

HAH! Imagine ME having a problem!!!!!!!!

Yeah, doesn't sound too good. A few things you might look at:

1. Use system restore to go back a few weeks.
2. Scan for virus / spyware.
3. Format and reload. A clean install of ME will run okay. I have my box going on 2 years now with no problems.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
