Network Printer Not Sharing

Hello everyone, I am having trouble with a networked printer (HP 8000) that I am sharing with Windows 2000 Server. Recently it will randomly stop sharing itself, and I have to log on to the server and go to printer properties, etc. and set it to share again. I have checked the error logs on the server and the printer with no luck. Anyone have any ideas why my printer doesn't want to stay shared anymore?

two things, firstly one of ours 8000 was not printing corectly on the network (it has 64meg), I ended up changing the network card and problem solved (not cheapBUT the printer will go on foever). Secondly can you ping the printer.
