I have a 3 station win98 network with a xerox laser printer on lpt1 on one workstation. I can print over the network from the two remote pc's. I cannot print from the local pc to LPT1: Are there any suggestions.
Probably time to delete it and reinstall. Add the share back for the other machines, and maybe reload their drivers too. This generally has nothing to do with networking if the properties tie into the LPT port. Ed Fair

I have seen this before, but what was the resolution again...
Can you print something from the dos prompt
(using something [tt]like type autoexec.bat > lpt1[/tt])?
Try altering your settings in the BIOS for the par.port to ECP.
What do you get if you type in the DOS prompt [tt]mode con[/tt]
Maybe the local lpt1 port is rerouted to another one. It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious.
