I have a virtual Windows 2K3 (using AMDPCNET Acelerated Driver 1 GByte) running over ESX 3.0, when I transmit a file via FTP to the Windows 2K3 the transfer ratio is very small.

But when I transmit the same file via FTP to the ESX Server (Linux Console) the transfer ratio is very high.

Any idea?

I have seen this kind of problem in windows, whatever it lives (either physical server or VM). If my memory serves me, it can be fixed modifying an advanced parameter in the network card INTO the windows (not ESX, VMWare has nothing to do about it).

If a windows guy can complement pls.

Best regards.

Dear Chancalinc,

What advanced parameter do you refer?

I have gotten much better network performance in Win2K3 machines (physical and virtual) by disabling the IPSEC service.
