Network performance for DOS apps on windows 2003

We are running a DOS app (ACCPAC) on a windows 2003 server share. Only problem is it is very slow when you run it rom the network. But if you run it on the local desktop it is fast. Also normal file share access over the network is fast.
It is running on IBM X225 server with Xeon processors.

What needs to be done to improve perormance for the DOS application.

Have you turned off oplocks on the server? I just finished a cutover from novell to 2003 today and accpac is alot quicker...

Turn them off and try it again...

Is the accpac share by chance on the C: partition of the server???
