I bought a second hand Mac but can't start it because I receive a window with the message: "Pleasre enter the Network password."
What can I do about that?

You can reformat the hard drive, Boot from a Mac OS CD and reinitialize it I love everyone til they prove otherwise, sadly some prove otherwise SO quickly

You can go into the system folder/Servers and delete the alias files that are in there. If you hold down the Shift Key when you bootup you will turn the Extensions OFF and you can then get at this folder.

If there is no Server folder, delete the AppleShare Prep file in the system folder/preferences/.

Think format is as a last result. You can also cancel the network log on and it should continue with the bootup. You may have to do this a few times. It will all depend on the number of servers that machine was logged to. If you can't fix it in 20 call someone who can.

You shouldn't need to turn off extensions - just start it and then when it asks for the password just hit apple period once for each password it asks for until you get to the desktop then bin the aliases like Matt says.
