Help please I am sure that my client is being passed from pillar to post. His email provider recently had a failure on their servers and since then he has not been able to send emails. He's on Win XP with a data server running Win XP as well He's not using Exchange.

We have disabled his NAV 2003 - which has not solved it. He was getting error message Ox800cccOF but is now getting the periodic email in. When sending and receiving he's getting a status bar which stops at 60% & then fails. It is also requesting his "network password" all the time.

We have reset his password on the email account & checked his settings with the email provider. The other computer in the office is set up exactly the same & is recieving & sending emails OK - so it's not a modem issue

He can also access the Internet.

Is it - as I suspect a problem with his email provider - who denies all knowledge

Many many thanks for any pointers

So one pc receives e-mail with a user name and password with no problems? If that is the case, try downloading and installing another mail client, set that up, see if it works any better. Thunderbird is a free one.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.

You may have a corrupt file that won't download. Try going into a web-based email client like and deleteing any mail on the server. Then try send/receive again.

Who's the E-Mail provider? I'm having a similar problem with mine after their mail servers were attacked a day or 2 back.
Now I can't login to the mail servers.

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by
