I need to finish my MCSA 2000 it's been dragging on for to long and i haven't got around to taking my last exam.

I've passed 70-210, 70-215 and 70-218 i just need my elective exam, people have been saying that 70-216 Implementing and Administering a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure is pretty tough and i should take Network + or A+ if i just need to get my MCSA passed.

Has anyone here taken 70-216 and Network + that can say which is the best course?

Is A+ easier than Network +?

Cheers for any input.

When it comes to $'s spent, I would say that taking/studying for one test is "easier" than 2 tests. My understanding is that you are required to take both the A+ and Network+ to have the elective that you want. Thought about just studying for Security + instead? How about one of the other exams? If you just "need" your MCSA, I've heard that 70-224, 70-227, or 70-228 are pretty straight forward, and you could take one of those....

To answer your question of which is easier, I'm going to have to say that there is no "easy" way to answer that. Are you better at hardware/OS, or are you better at networking? The way to answer that question is basically subjective. There is no "easy" button you can push for this one.

OS and Networking are my strengths as that's what my job is, the boss wants me to finish my MCSA and i want to do it with minimum effort so i can practice my clarinet instead :)

I'll look at security + i hadn't realised i'd have to do A+ and Network +.

Cheers.

I agree fully with tfg13. There is no way to answer which test is easier.

Security+ is a decent one, good for MCSA or MCSE where A+, Net+ combo are good for MCSA only.

Here is my thread on what I used to get Security+

It's what worked for me and what to stay away from (at least from my perspective) I tend to overstudy as I really suck at learning material through reading a book.

Decided to take the Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) course in the end.

Cheers.
