We recently upgraded to Windows server 2008 on one on our DCs, added DNS and WINS to it. Everything was fine until we had an outage one weekend. Monday had some problems with name resolution until we got everything up and running, had to turn on computer browsing on the Windows 2008 server.
Now network neighborhood is missing the computer descriptions in the "Comments" field. We put the user's name in there, so it's east to grab their PC name and address when we want to help them. Now only the PC name shows, no description.
Reconfigured WINS replication, lots of browstat work, it looks like computer browsing is working. Any reason why these comments/descriptions would be blank?
