Have a network with about 80 machines attached. This includes about 4 Win98 workgroups. One of these groups has developed a problem. When you open network neighborhood you get an empty window. (not even the "entire network" icon).

Other workgroups are fine. What is going on? Any ideas where to start looking? NOTE mapped network drives between these machines still work (but I can't seem to establish new ones).

Andy,

First of all,

Were you ever able to see all the workgroups?

If yes, when did it cease?

If not, what is happening?

Cheers.

All the workgroups have been visible for years. This has been a trouble free setup until now.

Just make sure that they are still permited on the workgroup and that they are on the proper workgroup.

Can you recall an event, after which, this problem occurred.

There was no single special event. Some of the machines had recently had some security patches applied and some antivirus updates on others.

Does anyone know if this could be caused by excessive network traffic?
