Hi there.
We have a 2000 server which likes misbehaving. Its now got a new problem that it has developed all on its own!!
The server is not accessible to the network, but if you point directly to a share, you can browse it.
For example:
\\server is not available. The network name cannot be found.
\\192.168.0.1 is not available. The network name cannot be found.
\\server\c WORKS!
I am also having problems connecting new workstations to the domain. 2000 asks for a user name and password to connect with, then reports the server cannot be found.
Users also cannot change passwords as the domain cannot be found, however they log in fine and login script executes fine. The problem is the same no matter what you log on as. Its also the same when working over VPN.
Any ideas?? This is a fujitsu-siemens server which ha given us non stop problems.
Regards,
