Network mdb 32 vs 16 bit

I have a 32 BIT w95 running an access 2.0 app with the odbc 16 bit engine. The mdb is resident on the machine and shared to a network. A remote machine running an access 2.0 app with a 16 bit engine is mapped to the mdb on the 32 bit machine. The remote machine can open the mdb and add/delete records as long as the 32 bit machines app is not connected. The mdb is shared with proper rights and mapping. Either machine can edit add records when only one is connected. Both machines can view records simultaneously but not update.

Seems to be a conflict with the apps running 16 bit sharing the mdb on a 32 bit machine. Is the logic appropriate? Will reloading the 32 bit machine as 16 bit solve the problem.

have you checked the file is not set to exclusive, if the front end is only installed on one machine and in View..Options..Multi/User..DefaultOpenMode = Exclusive, then only one user can use the database, either change this to shared or give the remote user a front end with tables attached to remote back end.

Or

In the same place check the Record Locking Setting, try it on Edited Record.
