Hello,

I had a question on establishing a kind of network maintenace procedure. Is there a template that is available from cisco that I can fill in or follow to create some kind of procedure? Maybe something that can point me in the right direction? I need something straight forward that I can easyily understand and implement.

Thank you

One way would be to get a "Best Practices" document, like for example

Your Procedure would then be:
- Discover network:
- Use CDP to find all components
- Gather all configurations
- gather stats on performance
- Compare each configuration with the "Best Practice" document for that model of hardware
- document each variation from "Best Practice"
- Write a report outlining the state of the network and specifying all recommendations for change
- Design configuration changes
- Implement configuration changes

Roughly how I do it.

Appreciate it. That is what I needed. Very nice[smile]
