I have a win98 machine that logs into a novell server but uses the microsoft client to log in because they have said novell client causes a problem with a couple of there apps. The machine had to have win98 reinstalled and everything works fine but after installing the microsoft client the pc boots up to the desktop without bringing up the microsoft login. The network card has no problems, protocols are identical to the pc next to it.I can see the servers in the network and if I click on one it will ask me to login. If I go to start and logoff it will bring up the login screen, let you login, run the script and everthing. But it won't bring it up when you bootup.Any thoughts. Thanks in advance

Check to see what the "Default" login is through Control Panel, Networking.
If it's set to TCP/IP then you won't get the box, you need to set the default login to the network login (NETBEUI or whichever one you are using). Cheers,

I have tried switching the primary logins from the microsoft client for netware as well as the microsoft one with no luck. There is no tcp/ip connection just ipx.

Check your registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Network\Real Mode Net\AutoLogon=xx
xx are numbers 00 or 01

remove the autologon=xx
if it is there.. I think there is another issue with one of the netware files.. I will look that one up and try to get back to ya.
