try purchasing a Network switch that does that for you, or go to Advanced server. Now is the time. MS is offering an upgrade from standard edition to advanced, with ugrade advantage for about $1800.

What services do you run on the server. You might do it per application rather then by the OS.
For example, for file sharing services, you can use DFS with the standard W2K server.
