It's wanting the password of the user on the laptop. The problem is that if you don't have the same user name on the laptop, you can't change the user name in the dialog box. You should create a user with the same password each computer.

Better to set up a Home Group per the following vs. trying to do it the old way with Windows File Sharing.

I just recently found now that Windows 10 requires a password for sharing.

Even if permissions are set to "Everyone" etc....

Problem solved The issue was that the laptop name was keithlaptop but the user was keith laptop ie the space was missing. All is now well. Thanks
