I have a WinNT4 workstation (system1) that has two nics. Nic1 to the main coporate backbone and Nic2 (192.168 address) that is only for a local network. I have a drive mapped to another server (system2) via the corporate connection, nic1.

All is fine but eventually we start seeing the Nic2 address on system2. If we do a netstat command on system2 we will see the nic2 address, which again is only on a small local network off of nic2 on system1.

If I disconnect the mapping the nic2 address goes away. I can then remap and it's fine for a couple days then starts reappearing.

Hopefully I have explained that well enough and would appreciate any insight.

Thanks.

Hi

I think the "System1" is acting as a router, that is why you can see the Nic from system2. If you do not need it to be arouter then switch it off.

Hope it helps.
