Hi All i'm not sure if I have posted this in the correct category but I am implementing a new ISA server and need to reconifgure the clients.

Currently within the main office we have a multi-honed ISA server to connect to the web and a router to connect to the branch offices.

I have set up rules on the ISA server to route traffic to the remote offices to the router.

Should I set up the default gateway on the main office client pcs to the ISA server or the router.

Cheers

Use whatever holds the routes for your external networks. If the clients are only using ISA for Internet traffic, then you don't need to specify it or the gateway as your default.

If I had to pick one of those two, I'd use the router (obviously locked down to allow only ISA out). Otherwise, if you have a dedicated default gateway in the firm, that's what you want.

the router is on the trusted side of the isa server.

eg the isa server address is 192.168.1.1 and the router is 192.168.1.2.
