Network hiccups

Daily, our UNIX server will halt communication to our term emul. programs throughout the office. I would suspect the network, but I can still ping the routers at different branches. Also, there is no loss of the NT server connections. Another problem is that our dumb terminal over the RAN halts during this time as well.
We don't have a lot of processes hanging the system, and our buffers look good. There is no problem with our JFS sizes either, they stay between 70-80%.
Any ideas as to what to check, GREATLY appreciated.... Thanks,
