I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I'm not sure there is an exact forum for me!
I have been asked to integrate faxes into an application I am developing.
At the minute the faxes come in, it's picked up by the person, some details copied onto my system and the paper fax filed away.
What I'd like is the fax to be saved to an image or pdf file and saved on a central network location.
Does anyone have any experience of any software of this type? I've heard about WinFax, but am unsure if it will work in this way.

Outgoing faxes from the desktop would be advantageous, but not essential.
Also, are there any security issues that need considering. We've looked at it in the past & been turned down by IT because of vague concerns over security.

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

There are several applications which could perform this.
I'm working with "Venta Fax" and it's quite comfortable.

I have just taken a quick look, you can save as tiff, bmp, pcx or vfx(fax-specific).

It also contains a scheduler, so perhaps it would allow you to automate file save...

Besides this, I am not very fasmiliar with faxing...

Hope this helps,
Andy

Personally, I would look at RightFax fax server from Captaris ( It is a fully scalable fax server with many features.

As for integration to it has a full API SDK (FOC I think) and a COM based kit too (cost item)

How much faxing do you do?

Version One is a likely company if you need a UK supplier.

Personally, I like Hylafax.
