Does anyone know how to make vss remember network drive mappings? I will map a network directory to a drive letter, check out a file, close vss, then reopen and my file will still be checked out to the drive I mapped, but my drive letter no longer exists and I have to remap to the network directory again.

Anyone else have this problem or know how to solve it?

Thanks,
Scott

Maybe a little off-topic:

We had a problem of installing the database on the server. The drive letters were expanded to UNC pathnames automatically, but VSS does not support them. So we had to hack the registry and set the pathname to the one containing the drive letter:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\SourceSafe\Databases]
"srcsafe.ini"="s:\\shared\\oase\\VSSafe"

Best regards.
