Network drive keep getting disconnected

Hi:

I have a group of users about 12 of them who will access the shared folder in the server to do their work. Sometimes they will get the error: that their network drive is disconnected on their PC itself. Is it possible because of the heavy load of work being done on the server. Server is IBM xseries 232 running on windows 2000 server DC,pentium 3 1.13Ghz, with 2X18.2GB Hard disk.
